Mud Club

Mud Club       Mud Club       Mud Club

HJ Mud Club is the perfect place for students who have an interest in developing their talents and abilities in the creative arts. The club allows students an opportunity to learn about the art of ceramics, work on independent projects, and hang out with friends in a fun and relaxed environment while exploring their interests.

Mud Club Members Will:

• Learn to create ceramic pieces using the slab, pinch, and coil techniques.
• Create objects that can be useful, such as mugs and bowls.
• Create objects that are non-functional and decorative, such as figurines or ornaments.
• Experiment with a variety of ceramic glazes.
• Be introduced to the basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel.
• Have the opportunity to go on a ceramics field trip, pending grades and behavior.
• Participate in a fundraising event to sponsor a scholarship for one of the graduating seniors who plans to attend college and major in the Fine Arts.

The Mud Club will typically meet on the second Monday through Wednesday and the fourth Wednesday of every month right after school from 3:15 until 4:30.

Annual Membership Dues

The fee to join Mud Club is $15.00 for the year and is due to Mrs. Ducote by Monday, September 11. The money will be contributed to the funds to buy clays, glazes, tools and supplies needed for the various clay projects. If any money is left over at the end of the year, it will be used to throw a party for H-J Mud Club members.
